He was predeceased by: his parents, Lavonda Lee Karnes Chitmon and Gene "Babe" Chitmon; and his son Brian Ashley Calvert. He is survived by: his friends, Riley, Kelly Rhodes, Utley Trucking of Steele, MO., Joey Middleton, Larry Pounds and Bill Allison; his wife Sandy; his children, Kasey Chitmon (Jennifer) of East Bernard, TX, Justen Chitmon (Lindsey), Shelly Richardson (Joe) of Lakeview, AR, Pam O'Dea of Mountain Home, AR and Hollie Owens (Montez) of Blytheville, AR; and his stepbrothers, Dr. Gordan Akin (Cynthia) of Jonesboro, AR and Dr. Charles Akin (Phyllis) of Rogers, AR. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a host of great friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Carney Funeral Home (1501 Byrum Rd, Blytheville, AR 72315). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
