He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Shannon and Gertie Shannon-Pickney (Emerton); his former wife Caroline Shannon (Johnson); his daughter Ellen Colleen Shannon; and his siblings, William Shannon, Eldon Shannon, Harry Pickney, Willene Harmon and Mary Mae Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Shannon; his children, Evelyn Gardner (Dean), Enita Jeske (Charles), Elizabeth Beachler (Clayton), Eldon Shannon (Paula) and Elery Shannon; and his siblings, Jane Barton, Wanda Ragsdale, Ruby Putt, Betty Monehan (Larry), Joe Pickney and James Pickney (June). He is also survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, & 6 great-great grandchildren.
