He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Granville and Lois Opal Launius Rucker; his stepmother Annie Laura Rucker; his sisters, Fredia Pierce and Dorisann Tucker; and his nieces and nephews, Sammy Tucker, Mark Rucker, Lisa Tucker and Sissy Clayton.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Elizabeth Rucker (Holland); his children, JerriLynne (Jimmy Pennington), Jimmy Jackson of Coal Hill, Johnny (Ruthie Jackson), James Jackson of Summerville, SC, Barbara Jackson of Bismarck and Elizabeth (Justin Garner); and his siblings, Johnny (Jacquelin Rucker), Doug (Donna Herrin), Kenneth (Charlotte Herrin), Mike (Shammy), Delores (Benny Dickey) and Lisa (Jim Wise). He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
