He was predeceased by: his daughter Theresa Lee Gheen; and his sisters, Leona Slauter, Mary K. Edwards and Arlene Lipp Lightner. He is survived by: his wife Betty Gheen; his daughter Becky Shewmake of Danville; his son-in-law John Shewmake of Danville; his son Thomas Gheen of Bentonville; his daughter-in-law Laura Gheen of Bentonville; and his sister Helen Semeler of Wilmington. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
