She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Bien and Mary Vlcek Bien; her daughter Linda Vandenbos; and her sisters, Nancy Sabaj and Carol Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Steve York and Mary York Barnes; and her grandchildren, Kristy Thompson, Julie Muhlethaler, Seth Barnes, Sandy Vandenbos, Stephanie Murphy and Hayden Barnes. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many cherished friends.
The family requests that memorial donations in Mary Ellen Meeks' name be made to either "Samaritan House (https://www.samcc.org)" or to "Ellen's Memorial Garden at Osage Terrace" in her honor.
