He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Silas and Alice Pearl VanHuesen; and his siblings, Lucy, Rosalie, Donna and Ray.

He is survived by: his wife Julia Richards; his children, Terrie Chisholm (Mike) of Bentonville and Joe Richards (Monica Mathias) of Georgia; and his siblings, Joannie Douglas, Jackie Cole of New York and John Richards of New York. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members, associates and dear friends.
