He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Robert, Mildred Hopper, Roy, Claudette Forney and Herb Shreffler.

He is survived by: his parents, Patrick Hopper and Kimberly Hopper; his wife Christine Jean Hopper (Mayer); his sons, Jacob and Corbin Hopper; his brother Jeff; his in-laws, Dick and Alice Mayer; his brother-in-law Mark Mayer; and his siblings, Drew, Leslie Mayer, Paul, Kristin Mayer, Bryan and Kati Evans.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's name to the Messiah Lutheran Church.
