He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans W. Magaard and Marie Magaard; his brother Robert; and his daughter Barbara Jo Hehman. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Marie Magaard; his children, Linda M. Magaard, Patricia A. Magaard, Teresa L. Wingness, David H. Magaard, John L. Magaard (Carla), Daniel P. Magaard (Tamara) and Michael J. Magaard (Kari); his son-in-law Gregory A. Hehman; and his brothers, Omar Magaard (Sherry), Paul Magaard (Dorothy), Dale Magaard (Rosie), Donald Magaard (Pat) and Richard Magaard (Wanda). He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
