He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Henry Shafer and Hazel Aretta Wagamon Shafer; his daughter Sheryl See; and his brother Elvin Shafer. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Tracy Shafer of Springfield, Missouri and Julie Kitzsteiner of Raymore, Missouri; his grandsons, Sam Shafer, Stephen Shafer and Brandon Butcher; and his great grandchild Scarlett Butcher.
