He was predeceased by: his parents, Max and Minnie Shelby, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Catherine; his children, Woodie Rufus Lee of Detroit, Johnnie Walter Lee (Debra) of San Bernardino, CA, Kenneth Andre Lee (Cindy) of Prairie Grove, AR, Max Shelby III, Mary Catherine O'Callaghan of Houston, TX, Grace Cooper (Pablo) and Rachel Shelby of Madison, WI; his grandchildren, Niani Smally, Kenneth Andre Lee II, Chandler Grace Lee, Estravino Keith, Majowl Keith, Malina Keith, Kamai Lee, Woodie Rufus Lee II, Cashima Lee and Katrina Lee; his siblings, Martinee Shelby (Wanda) of West Bloomfield, MI, Michael Johnson of Detroit, Lorraine Ingram (Bruce), Debra Coleman (James), Sheila Gilmore of Detroit, Ethel Gilmore of Detroit, Linda Gilmore of Detroit and Regina Johnson (Godfrey); and his friends, Ted, Charlie Ringler, Ruth Burke and Layne Anderson. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
