He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ellsworth and Virginia Ellsworth; his daughter Lorri Ortmann; and his sister Shirley Ellsworth. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Ellsworth; his son David Ellsworth (Tina) of Graeagle, California; and his sister JoAnn Bishop of Porterville, California. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
