He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis McElyea and Dollie Jackson McElyea (Scott); his son Louie McElyea; his daughter-in-law Joetta; and his siblings, Leonard, Thilmore, Joe, Jacob, Clayton Jackson, May Jackson, Ursell McElyea and Arlie Neldon.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn McElyea; his children, Jimmy McElyea (Mary) of Beedeville and Laurie Martin (Reed) of Bartlett, Tennessee; his brother Charlie Jackson of Holland, Michigan; his grandchildren, Triana Biggers (Michael) of Cabot, Janine Thornton (Colton) of Tuckerman, Elyssia Passe (Tim) of South Korea, Justin McElyea of Beedeville, David McElyea of Jonesboro, Braden Reynolds of Brookland, Conner Martin of Memphis and Chandler Martin of Tampa, Florida; and his great grandchildren, Ciarra Biggers, Maya Biggers, Lilliana Passe, James Passe, Sidney Thornton and Kenley Thornton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
