He was predeceased by: his parents, Elton Ray Gibson, Sr. and Evelyn Lela Gibson; his brother Donald Gibson; and his nephew Kris McNeely. He is survived by: his mother-in-law Flo (MawMaw); his wife Jamie Gibson; his son Ty; his daughter-in-law Emily Gibson of Jonesboro; his daughters, Sally Gibson of Beech Grove, Molly (Austin Miller) and Abby (Chandler Cupp); his siblings, Elton Gibson, Jr. (Lorene), Bruce Gibson, Rebecca Edwards (Harold), Carolyn McNeely (Jerry) and Rayanna Gibson (Dalton); his nieces and nephews, Jonathan Edwards, Jack Dalton, Harry Dalton, Amanda Vestal and Jennifer Edwards; his great-nephew Felix McNeely; and his great-nieces, Neely and Lela Vestal. He is also survived by his brothers, his son, and good friends.
