He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayborn Bratton and Lexie Bratton; his siblings, Clayburn, Doyle, Bobby, Julius, Helen and Nadene; and his son Roy Bratton Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Bratton; his son Michael Bratton; and his grandchildren, Marcus, Jessica, Cody, Michael II and Jeremy Bratton. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
