He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter William Varnell and Allie Varnell (Harrison); and his siblings, Norman, Billy, Boyd Varnell, Hazel Sharp, Juanita Sloan, Eula Lemonds and Beula Lemonds.
He is survived by: his wife Daisy Varnell (Lunsford); his children, Michael Varnell (Rachel) of Velvet Ridge and Beverly Mason (Tim) of Lowell; his grandchildren, Jeremy Mason (Brittany), Andrea Mason and Hunter Varnell; his great grandchildren, Chloe and Carter Mason; and his brother Donald Varnell (Becky) of Dumas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
