He was predeceased by: his parents, Nolan Altom and Floy Wilf Altom. He is survived by: his wife Katherine B. Altom; his daughters, Vanessa E. Altom of Baton Rouge and Virginia W. Cruse (Chris) of Batesville; and his granddaughters, Hannah E. Cruse of Batesville and Katie Cruse of Batesville. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
