He is survived by: his adoptive daughter Dixie Smithee of Batesville; his godchildren, Scott Baxter (Tracy) of Batesville, Sissy Wilson (Ricky) of O'Neal and Shelly Baxter of Horseshoe Bend; his grandchildren, Misty Smithee of Batesville and Justin Smithee (Katie) of Cave City; his cousins, Ben Brickhouse (Dale) of Blairsville, Georgia, Lucia Madey of Gainsville and Joel Adams of Cape Coral, Florida; and his great grandchildren, Brileigh Marlin, Brecken Smithee and Brooks Smithee.
