Farris Nelms Obituary
We bid farewell to Farris Nelms of Batesville, Arkansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 5, 2025 at the age of 79. Farris touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Farris may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Farris touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Addison Farris Martin Jr. and Eleanor Smith Martin (Holton); and her sister Betsy Henley. She is survived by: her husband Dick Nelms; her sister Eleanor Winfrey of Chapel Hill; and her children, Frank (Susan) of Greenbrier, David (Leigh) of Rogers, Preston (Ashley) of Batesville and Beth Pierce (Jon) of Winston Salem. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and her two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (775 E Boswell St, Batesville, AR 72501).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
