We are sad to announce that on August 8, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Elwanda Tatum of Batesville, Arkansas, born in Caney, Oklahoma. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe F. Umber and Jessie Umber (Griffin); her husband Sid Tatum; her sons, Harold Deen Tatum and Jerry Tatum; and her grandchildren, Ted Kelton and Melissa Teague.

She is survived by: her children, Bobby Tatum (Thelma) of Batesville, Cheryl Kelton (Ron) of Cherokee Village and Wanda Chism of Collierville, Tennessee; and her grandchildren, Sherrie Scardino (Kevin), Christy Sykes (Dan), Deana Hall (Jimmy), Matthew Chism (Meredith) and Kimberly Kelton Jaco (Jim). She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be made to First Church UPC, 240 White Dr., Batesville, AR 72501.

Her encouragement was always welcomed, and appreciated. Her honesty was always foremost in any and all conversations. She sat a great example for all of us. I will always remember her with affection, and a deep sense of gratitude that i was fortunate to have had her in my life, and more than that we were family.”
