He was predeceased by: his significant other Bernice Lape; his daughter Carolyn Biderman; and his siblings, Pierce, Barnell, George "Pep" Maddox, Bonnie Lee Maddox, Bronnie Jones, Odell Hubbard and Mamie Daves.

He is survived by: his friends, Charles "Abby" and Dorothy Treadway. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.
