She was predeceased by: her parents, Newt Jessie Smith and Virgie Othel Nuckolls Smith (Nuckolls); her husband Buford C. Barens; her grandson John Edward Woods, Jr.; and her siblings, Lillie, Mary, Martha, McKinley, Junior, Leon, David and Herschel.
She is survived by: her son John Edward Woods, Sr. (Ruby); her great grandchild Madison Rose Woods Echols; and her stepchildren, RuthAnn Cooper, Reba Mize and Darrell Barens.
