He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Kreis and Minnie Kreis; and his siblings, John, Sam, Arthur, Naomi, Ida and Mable.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Kreis; his sons, Gary Kreis (Ann) of Arlington, James Arthur Kreis of Augusta, Michael Wayne "Mickey" Kreis (Ginger) of Augusta, Jeffery "Jeff" Kreis (Teresa) of Little Rock and David Kreis (Lisa) of Hutto; and his grandchildren, Michael Kreis, Kelly Bailey, Justin Kreis, Lana Fairchild, Matt Kreis, Jacob Kreis, Katelyn Kreis and Kylee Kreis. He is also survived by nine great-grandsons; and a host of other relatives and friends.
