He was predeceased by: his parents, William Claud Murdoch and Ida Fridell Murdoch; his siblings, Walsie, Clarence, Leslie, Hugh, Elaine and David Quentin; and his friends, Alvis and Nina Tackett.

He is survived by: his friend Louise Hays; his children, Angela Kathryn Murdoch Pierce (Richard) and Timothy Webb Murdoch (Tressie Marshall); his grandsons, Dale Wayne Brown II (Katelyn), Christopher William "Kit" Brown (Melanie), Brett Tyson Murdoch, Cort Grayson Murdoch (Brittany) and Connor David Murdoch; his stepgrandsons, Stephen Richard Pierce (Lezlee) and Gregory Alan Pierce (Mallory); and his great grandchildren, William Murdoch Brown, Eleanor Louise "Birdie" Brown, Pierce Thomas Brown, Ruby Kate Brown and Theodore William Brown. He is also survived by eight step-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by donations made to the Pope County Library System or the Russellville.
