It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy Childress of Atkins, Arkansas, born in Hattieville, Arkansas, who passed away on July 23, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Childress and Wilma Dixon Childress. He is survived by: his wife Patti Stubbs Childress; his sons, Sammy Childress, Jr. and Terry Childress (Sandy); his brother Jerry Childress (Pat); his grandchildren, Casey Childress (Lori), Logan Childress (Tara), Alyssa (David Long), Cory Childress (Cassidy), Ashley (Adam Wilson), Brooke (Jacob Lasley) and Andy Gallaway (Megan); his brother-in-law Tommy Stubbs (Sharon); his niece Beth Stubbs Glenn; and his nephew Clay Stubbs. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
