He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy McCarty and Ruby Gross McCarty; his wife Jayne McCarty; and his siblings, Raymond (Sue McCarty), Bill McCarty and Wanda Owens.

He is survived by: his children, Kevin McCarty (Angela), Jody McCarty (Lisa) and Tracy McCarty. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
