He was predeceased by: his parents, James Herman and Dazzie Cordelia Gist Clark; his former wife Jewel Clark; his wife Nettie Clark; his siblings, Franklin, Bobby Joe Clark, Margie Russell and Mildred Clark; and his grandson Phillip Turnbough.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debra (George Harris) and Palma (Lonnie Harris); his sisters, Nadine (Ray White) and Janie West; and his grandchildren, Henry, Tonya Harris of Andrea, J. B., April Mathes and Raven Hall. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
