He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Messer and Gracie Messer; and his son Richard Steve Messer. He is survived by: his wife Judith Messer of Ashdown; his sons, Patrick, Kim Messer of Memphis, TN and Robert Clyatt of Dallas, TX; and his siblings, Joseph Messer of Alachua, FL and Maire Boromei of Valrico, FL. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
