He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Newsom, Sr. and Virgie A. Moore Newsom; his parents-in-law, W. T. and Ina Wade; his siblings-in-law, Donna Wade Crain and Jack H. Young, Jr.; and his nephew Brandon Giles.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Wade Newsom of Ashdown; his children, Don B. Newsom, James W. Newsom III of Hope, AR, Charlissa Newsom of Poquoson, Stephanie Zayouna (Duraid) of Katy and Stacy Revalee (Wallace) of Texarkana, TX; and his sister Mary Wilkenson (Steve) of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
