He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Thatcher and Betty Thatcher (Wren); his wife Sharon; and his brothers, Joe, David and Dennis.

He is survived by: his sisters, Ginny Jones, Mary Thomas (Bill), Cindy Thatcher, Bette Perez, Laurie Thatcher, Debbie Cox (Larry) and Pamela Stevens (Brian); his stepdaughter Fay Lynn Vaquera; his stepgranddaughter Megan Vaquera; and his sister-in-law Malinia Thatcher.
