He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Dale Pester and Marian Pester (Holmes); and his son Dale Joseph Pester. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Marie Doctor of Ash Flat, Arkansas; his children, Matthew James Pester (Karen) of Joliet, Illinois and Rebecca Ann Stamm of Joliet, Illinois; his grandchildren, Phillip Douglas Stamm, T. J. Catavu and Nicky Catavu; his great grandchild Zayden Catavu; his sister Sharon Rushing of Manhattan, Illinois; and his nieces and nephews, Jim Stokes, Grace Stokes, Kellyne Kastanza, Kate Mysatyukow and Brent Rushing.
Memorials may be made to the Franciscan Order in Quincy, Illinois.
