He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Benthal and Eva Golden Carter; and his sister Velma DeMoss. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Graham Carter of Arkadelphia; his children, Terry Carter (Kathy) of Arkadelphia and Janice Newsom (John) of Longview, TX; his brother Ralph Carter of Pine Bluff; and his grandchildren, Heather, Tiffany and Tilly. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
