He was predeceased by: his parents, George Whitaker and Eria Butler Whitaker; and his siblings, Mary W. Delamar, Milton Whitaker, Robert Whitaker and Marvin Edward Whitaker.
He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Ann Lock; his wife Patricia A. Whitaker; his children, Kenneth Whitaker (Linda) of Natchitoches, LA, Calvin Whitaker (Sharon) of Milwaukee, WI, Shara "Tasha" Means (Christian) of Little Rock and Kevin Whitaker (Chariss) of Milwaukee, WI.; his sisters, Bessie Bowman of St. Louis, MO and Erma Jean Yarber of Kansas City, MO; his sister-in-law Bessie Whitaker of Springhill, LA.; and his close friend Joe Henry Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. as well as, a legion of nieces, nephews.
