He was predeceased by: his parents, James Julious and Hazel Powell (Thompson); and his siblings, Aubrey Gene Powell, Leon Powell, Estell Powell and Lottie Bernice Luster.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Powell; his sons, Shawn Powell (Theresa) of Weiner and Shane Powell of Amagon; and his grandchildren, Creighton Powell of Memphis and Blake Powell of Jonesboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
