She was predeceased by: her parents, Naozo Tanno and Shin Tanno; her husband William Henry Besse; and her brothers, Takashi, Toshio and Katsumi.

She is survived by: her children, Henry Dale Besse (Tondra) of Memphis, TN, Janice Johnson (Ray) of Green Forest, AR, Pattie Tanno (Dominic Philippon) of Harrison, AR and Hallie Neville (Tom) of Wasilla, AK; and her grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Bill Besse, Jason Besse, James Rowland, Jonathan Besse, Shea Neville, Virginia Morris, Emily Tanno-Philippon and Tabitha Besse. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
