With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Anthony Mercaitis Jr. of Alma, Arkansas, born in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on August 18, 2022 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Anthony Sr. and Cleo Mercaitis (Schmdt). He is survived by: his wife Jane; his son Kevin M Mercaitis; his grandson William M. Mercaitis of Alma, AR; and his stepsons, Chad Gallagher of Freeport, IL and Chris Gallagher of Beloit, WI.

He has donated his body to U of A.
