He was predeceased by: his son Shirone Knighton (Shirley); and his siblings, Arthur Knighton (Annie), Louis Charles Knighton (Adlener), Lillie Sanders (Elbert) and Hollie Windham (Patrick).
He is survived by: his wife Alberta Chapman Knighton of York, AL; his children, Sandra Clark of York, Wanda Blakely (Terrance) of York, Jimmy Lee Knighton, Jr. of York and Phillis Hopson (David) of Meridian, MS.; and his sister Essie Pearl Knighton. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
