He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Milton Russell and Edith Faye Bryan Russel; his daughter Karen Leigh Russell; and his siblings, Jerry Russell, Burkley Russell and Diane Russell Hopper.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Elizabeth; his children, Donna Lynn Russell Dial (Bird), David Bryan Russell and Elizabeth Leigh Russell; his siblings, Paula and Doug; his grandson Austin Weekly (Kasey); his siblings, Preston Weekly, Erica Russell Robinson (Ashley) and Zachary Russell; his great grandchild Marie Weekley; and his grandchildren, Sarah Weekley, Rhett Robinson and Reese Robinson.
