He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Doan Sr. and Veda Harvey Doan; his former wife Patricia Ann Doan; his daughter Lee Ellen Doan Williams; and his sister Charlene Perella.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Doan of Woodland; his sons, James E. "Jimmy" Doan III of Mobile and Kevin A. Iosty (Janet) of Woodland; and his son-in-law John Williams of Huntsville. He is also survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
