“Mrs. Roby was a wonderful teacher. Without her teachings, I would not have made it through college. She was not only a teacher, but also a mentor and encourager to myself and others. I have a book she gave me for graduation and I have always held it close. In It, she told me I would succeed. Many times when I have doubted myself, I have looked back to that book and her words for encouragement. She was a wonderful person.”

“Dear family, although i was a very troubled teenager, i couldn't help but love and respect mrs. Roby. She was truly a bright spot in those difficult years, because she inspired all of us to be and to do our best - and, in fact, she would accept nothing less while we studied under her. “Dear mr. Roby and family, i am so sorry for the loss of your astonishing wife. I had mrs. Roby in my senior english class of 1973-74. I’m sure you have heard this, but she was tough! In all of my future english classes, of which were many, no one came near to the quality of teaching she exuded. She is the reason i became a high school english teacher. I learned to write well because she was tough and held all who passed through her class to a high standard. Thank you Mrs. Roby.
