He is survived by: his wife Nina Bowen Thompson; his son Drew Thompson; his mother Lessie Wates Thompson; his siblings, Shirley Rayburn, Sharon Smith (Donnie), Gary and Tim Thompson; his sisters-in-law, Johnnie Thompson and Debra Lang (Alan); and his stepson Anthony McCaleb (Lisa). He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
