She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Cox and Mary Cox; her husband Louis B. Hanks; her children, Gail Patterson and Gary Hanks; and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Hanks.
She is survived by: her close friend Louis; her sons, Louis Hanks, IV and Thomas Hanks; and her grandchildren, Stacey Sullivan, Jack Sullivan (Michelle), Amy Watford (Brad), TJ Hanks, Mandy Peterson (Matt), Jonathan Hanks (Jamie) and Andrew Hanks (Courtney). She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Winfield First Baptist Church building fund, P. O. Box 237 Winfield, AL in memory of Mrs. Hanks.
