He was predeceased by: his parents, William, Sr. Tyra and Eva Mae Files Tyra; his daughter Elizabeth Dill; and his siblings, Julia Patton and William Tyra, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Jane Rozzell Tyra of Winfield; his daughters, Cynthia Tyra of Winfield, Karen Tyra-Suhar (David) of Winfield and Carolyn Rogers (Floyd) of Madison, AL; and his sister Shelvy Coprich. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
