He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Matthew and Sue Dell Harkness; and his sibling Johnnie Sue Beasley. He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Robertson, Risa H. Grimsley (Alva), Fred Daniel "Butch" Harkness, Jr. (Susan) and Jenny Harkness Allen; his grandchildren, Chase Robertson (Gena), Reid Robertson (Priscilla), Jessica R. McCray (Freddie), Peyton R. Roulaine (Jim), Will Grimsley, Molly G. Beaugh (Adam), Mary Elizabeth H. Peters (Kevin) and Elizabeth Allen; and also Jimmy Don Harkness. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Camp Comfort Cemetery Fund; 2002 Pineview Circle NW Fayette, AL 35555, the Winfield Sports Athletics or to the First Baptist Church of Winfield Children's Building Fund.
