He is survived by: his friend Preston Lyons; his wife Mary Ruth Atkinson; his son Byron Atkinson (Shirley); his grandchildren, Nathan Atkinson (Kathy), Emily Sexton (Keith) and Josh Atkinson (Susan); his great grandchildren, Whit Sexton and Jackson Sexton; and his sister-in-law Norma Atkinson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, church family and other relatives and friends.
