He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard C. Gilbert and Willie Ruth Posey Gilbert; and his sister Sherry Alvis. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Vanita McCaleb Gilbert; his children, Kay Jones (Teddy), Sidney Gilbert and Amy Aldridge (Randy); his grandson Dustin Jones (Laura); his great grandchildren, Marshall and Maverick Jones; and his siblings, Nancy Crowson and Michael Gilbert (Lynn). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Human Society of your choice in memory of Billy.
