He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Law Padgett and Robert Padgett; and his siblings, Homer Padgett, Virginia Murphy, Shirley Smithart and Sara Mae Burkett.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Massenburg Padgett; his sons, Johnny Reb Padgett (Stacey) and Robert Padgett (Andrea); his grandchildren, J. R. Padgett (Tracy), Mallori Padgett and Mae Padgett; his great grandchild Lane Padgett; and his siblings, Latain Spann, Bonnie Padgett, Juanita Butler, Bob Padgett, Nannette Padgett, Charlene Taylor (Charles), Curtis Padgett (Cherie), Monette Vanosdol (Don) and Ann Moore. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
