It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emrol Lee Pogue of Whatley, Alabama, who passed away on February 3, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pogue and Flora Howze Pogue; his siblings, James O'Neal, Fredrick, Toles, Lloyd, Joseph, Larry and Erin; and his wife Cecelia Dinkins.
He is survived by: his children, Kenyorta Pogue (Tasha) of Sandusky, OH, Dr. Jamila Grace (James) of Tallahassee, FL, Karla Pogue of Grove Hill, AL, K'Juan Hines, Jareacu Hines (Shaikeria), Janessa Hines-Fountain (Damien) and Germaine Carstarphen of Mobile, AL; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Trinity, Taylor, Kaizen, Kyler and Darrin Jr.; his siblings, Melvin Pogue of Louisville, KY, Dwight Pogue (Donna) of Pensacola, FL, Ann Coleman of Mobile, AL and Carolyn Shuford (Milton) of Montgomery, AL; his sister-in-law Marcia Smith of Grove Hill, AL; and his extended family, Donna Silas, Valerie Cox (Alphonso) and Charlie Nobles (Lesia). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM and on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church (2401 Asbury Rd, Grove Hill, AL 36451).
