He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Pat Cavazos; his wife Virginia Gates; his children, Jane DeMoss, William Gates, Tara Gates and Betty Gates; and his grandchildren, Jose Cavazos, Renee Anglin, Bobby Carroll Jr. and Brandon Gates. He was also cherished by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
