He was predeceased by: his wife Lupee F. Desmond; his parents, George O. Desmond and Marguerite Desmond; his son Kyle Desmond; and his siblings, Phillip W. Desmond and Judy Desmond Stewart.
He is survived by: his children, Wade Desmond (Debbie) of Trussville, AL, Lee Desmond (Kim) of Clanton, AL and Denise West (Mike) of West Blocton, AL; his grandchildren, Candice Gourdouras, Gabrielle Morrow, Molly Desmond, Laura Desmond and Hunter Desmond; his great grandchildren, Meredith Morrow, Annalouise Gourdouras, Cece Morrow and Deacon Gourdouras; and his close friends, LaWayne Gilbert, John Pratt, Scott Lightsey, Linda Lightsey and Timothy DeHart.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alabama Children's Home.
