He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Smith and Josephine Smith; and his siblings, Jerry Smith, Fred Smith, Ricky Smith, Brenda Piercy, Sinda Russell and Shelby Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Janith Smith; his children, Michael Smith (Doyle), Melissa Jones (Mike), Shawn Smith (Lynn), Donna Lynn Smith, Lou Belcher (Tommy) and Dale West (Jacki); his grandchildren, Clayton Jones, Brandy Smith, Katlyn Smith, Josh Smith, Jarryd Seagle, Drew West, Ashley Smith and Branden West; his great grandchildren, Oakley Creel, Stetson Smith and Stella West; and his pet Duke. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
